Sainsbury’s student discount

Sainsbury's is one of the leading supermarkets in the UK, known for its good quality groceries as well as its clothing and homeware ranges. It also has small Argos stores inside many of its supermarkets.

Unfortunately, as with most supermarkets, Sainsbury's doesn't currently offer any additional discount to students. However, the retailer does always have excellent offers and you can almost always pick up a few freebies with your online shop.

If you're shopping in-store, most stores now offer the ability to scan & bag as you go so you don't need to wait around at the checkouts. This is a great, quick way to grab a few essentials on your way to a lecture in the morning!

Sainsbury's Nectar scheme

Nectar is Sainsbury's way of saying thank you every time you shop.

You earn 1 point for every £1 you spend, and can then convert your points into money off vouchers and more (as an example, 500 points gets you £2.50 to spend at Argos).

Customers can collect and spend points with hundreds of brands, like Sainsbury’s and Argos and even eBay, so they can add up quite quickly!

Sainsbury's Delivery Pass

If you shop online regularly at Sainsbury’s, it might be worth considering one of their delivery passes, as you could save up to a massive £168 per year.

How it works:

• Sign up for a monthly, 6-month, or 12-month pass, starting from £4 per month
• Get your deliveries covered for this monthly fee – you can get up to one free delivery every day, with 1-hour slots to suit you throughout the day and evening
• If you don’t save enough to cover the cost of your Delivery Pass, they’ll send you a voucher for the difference
